This reporter recalls a presentation from the long-vanished British firm Modec, a startup making light delivery vans, which said even back in 2009 that fleet managers would see a lifetime payback on what were then very expensive BEV cargo vans. None of the “import” brands currently offer light commercial EVs in the US.

The United States is not building enough transmission lines to connect regional power networks. A transmission network contains webs of connections, which create a reliable, redundant power-supply system of massive scale. The goal is to keep the lights on at a low cost by utilizing an efficient mix of power plants.

. & If you take nothing else away from this post, it should be that old-school battery packs of this sort show up in two types: One that turns on via a dedicated on/off switch and one that rouses from its slumber by detecting a trickle of charge from the battery to which it is connected. I was utterly mistaken.
