The US Cash for Clunkers scheme ran out of cash on Tuesday with 690,114 dealer transactions submitted. According to official statistics, 84 per cent of consumers traded in trucks and 59 per cent purchased passenger cars. In Germany, statistics from the Federal Motor Transport Authority reveal that total car registrations in March fell by 38% while fully electric cars actually grew by 56% and hybrids by 208%.
