The overall carbon emissions associated with electric cars decrease as the electricity used to recharge them gets cleaner. And the latest statistics from the International Energy Agency (IEA) will be good news indeed for electric-car drivers.

The main type of battery used is Lithium-ion and when the charge is depleted the batteries can be recharged again. In fuel cell cars we do not have to recharge the battery. Instead, we have to supply hydrogen just like we fill gasoline but the car will be powered by electric motors just like a normal electric car.

California-based start-up Humble Motors has set out to resolve the issue by charging their cars with solar electricity. Nearly 61 % of electricity is generated by burning non-renewable energy sources such as coal or natural gas. The car is a four-door, five-seat SUV. In terms of price, the car will start at $109,000.
