For 2024, Chrysler is rewarding them with a smattering of updates to its Pacifica. The frankly excellent plug-in hybrid variant will be available in two models for 2024, including a Select trim in addition to the spendy Pinnacle and its second-row throw cushions. Two new colors are on the palette: Red Hot and Baltic Gray.

All purchases will be made from manufacturers with an existing contract with the GSA, which are General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. This includes the purchase of 2,500 hybrid sedans that will be ordered by 15 April. This is the largest one-time purchase of hybrid vehicles for the federal government fleet yet.

The Volt is the plug-in hybrid car GM showed at last January’s Detroit Auto Show. Apply that principal to cars , and that pretty much explains the Volt. Good, sexy cars and a great price. The Volt , provided GM can get the lithium battery right , will go about 40 miles on an electric charge. Estimates vary.

While piston generators rely on catalytic converters to reduce their emissions by 10x to meet ever-increasing California Air Resources Board standards, the Fulcrum turbine generator is so much cleaner, that it meets emissions standards without adding to its weight and complexity.
