Argonne study compares life cycle emissions of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide from brines and ores

Researchers at Argonne National Laboratory have conducted life cycle analyses (LCAs) for battery-grade lithium carbonate (Li 2 CO 3 ) and lithium hydroxide monohydrate (LiOH•H 2 O) produced from Chilean brines (Salar de Atacama) and Australian spodumene ores. This information will help us achieve our goal of being carbon neutral by 2030.

Satellite data show resurgence in NO2 emissions over China

Data from the ESA’s Tropomi (TROPOspheric Monitoring) instrument on board the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite shows the variation of nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ) emissions over China from December to March. The drop in emissions also coincided with Lunar New Year celebrations, which usually sees a similar drop in emissions each year.
