thyssenkrupp Steel is supplying low-CO 2 “ bluemint ” steel to its customer Accuride for the production of truck wheels. To improve the carbon footprint of the wheel for the customer Accuride, several parameters in flat steel production have been optimized with regard to sustainability.

The Volkswagen Group plans to use the low-CO 2 steel from the end of 2025 in future projects such as the Trinity e-model, which will be produced in Wolfsburg from 2026. For Volkswagen, the reduction of CO 2 emissions in the supply chain is a key element in the Group’s strategy to gradually become a carbon-neutral mobility provider by 2050.
