This scenario played out in May at the Routes de l’Oise cycling competition near Paris, and the van was believed to contain evidence of a distinctly 21st-century cheat: a hidden electric motor. Cyclists call it “motor doping.” Motor doping has only been confirmed once in professional cycling, way back in 2016.

The new Le Mans prototype will make its race debut on 5 May in the 6-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) and will compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (France) on 16-17 June. One vehicle axle (rear) is powered conventionally, the second (front) by two water-cooled 75 kW motors with integrated power electronics.

Ford GT is company’s showcase for aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fiber construction, along with the new twin-turbocharged Ford EcoBoost V6. The new Ford GT race car for WEC and Le Mans competition unveiled today at Le Mans, France. The Ford GT race car will debut in 2016, and will be campaigned by Chip Ganassi Racing.
