With nearly 14,000 vehicles and Canada’s largest retail network of close to 6,000 post offices, Canada Post acknowledges its footprint is significant. Canada Post currently has an open RFQ (Request for Qualification) for an EV Pilot.

IKEA Canada has partnered with technology-enabled logistics and last-mile delivery provider, Second Closet, which will begin integrating zero-emission trucks into its fleet for IKEA home deliveries in several markets across Canada. In 2020, IKEA Canada completed more than 500,000 home deliveries, a 30% increase from 2019.

Canada can succeed economically while meeting targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to an economic modelling study commissioned by the Pembina Institute and the David Suzuki Foundation. The study indicates that Canada can implement much stronger climate policies than the US and still prosper economically.

A new Conference Board of Canada report finds that Canada is unlikely to achieve an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels by 2050.
