Programs were conducted in English, Spanish, and Manderin Chinese. The Tucson Electric Vehicle Association in Arizona showcased conversions and self-built vehicles.

Last year Oregon had also aggressively negotiated with the Chinese carmaker, BYD , to manufacture its line of plug-in hybrids in the state for sale in the U.S.) In most conversions cost is about the same because of needless weight. So why has Oregon become a hotbed of activity for electric vehicles all of a sudden?
