Bloom Energy, a developer of solid oxide fuel cell power generators, announced the ability of its Energy Servers to operate on renewable hydrogen. At peak times, some US states and countries already have more renewable power than their grids can handle.

Energy company SGH2 is bringing the world’s biggest green hydrogen production facility to Lancaster, California. California’s largest owners and operators of hydrogen refueling stations (HRS) are in negotiation to purchase the plant’s output to supply current and future HRS to be built in the state over the next ten years.

In France, for example, the hydrogen producer Lhyfe is operating a pilot project called SEM-REV off the coast of Saint-Nazaire, which has been producing small amounts of hydrogen since September 2022. In the future we’ll need to replace this dirty hydrogen with green hydrogen, produced by electrolysis using renewable electricity.
