UGI Corporation has entered into a 15-year agreement with California-based technology developer Vertimass to utilize their catalytic technology to produce renewable fuels from renewable ethanol in the US and Europe. The technology enables flexible production of the renewable fuels to align with regional market demand.

Bloom Energy, a developer of solid oxide fuel cell power generators, announced the ability of its Energy Servers to operate on renewable hydrogen. Current Bloom Energy Servers generate electricity using natural gas or biogas as fuel. Bloom Energy Servers can operate on pure hydrogen or a combination of natural gas and hydrogen.

Energy company SGH2 is bringing the world’s biggest green hydrogen production facility to Lancaster, California. SGH2’s gasification process uses a plasma-enhanced thermal catalytic conversion process optimized with oxygen-enriched gas. It can also provide lowest-cost long-term storage for electrical grids relying on renewable energy.

UPS has purchased another 48 heavy tractor trucks equipped to run on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). UPS is the only private delivery company using this technology in its fleet and now has more than 1,100 natural gas-powered vehicles in service. The agreement has a seven-year initial term with three one-year renewal options.
