The California Energy Commission (CEC) approved funding to advance further the development of its pioneering 42 MW peak microgrid and expand electric vehicle charging at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010.
