GM sets June and first half delivery records in China

The Buick, Cadillac and Baojun brands had their best June ever. The strong June performance enabled GM to set a first half record for deliveries in China. Cadillac deliveries in June jumped 34% on an annual basis to 9,552 units. Demand for the brand’s best-selling SUV, the Envision, increased 27% to more than 14,000 units.

Consumer Reports: Tesla and other domestic brands take big steps backwards in reliability rankings

Cadillac is the worst-rated domestic manufacturer and ranks near the very bottom at 28. The Model X SUV remained “Much-Worse-Than-Average” for reliability, with ongoing problems including the falcon-wing doors and center display screen. While the Chrysler 300 improves to “Average,” the Pacifica minivan falls to “Below-Average.”

GM and JVs deliveries in China down 43.3% in Q1; Wuling introduces EVs

Cadillac deliveries topped 26,800 units (-40% y-o-y). The CT4 sedan being launched in China this month will give Cadillac its strongest and most complete lineup ever, enabling it to compete in all key luxury segments. The brand likewise began accepting preorders for the Blazer SUV to tap into the popular large SUV segment.

GM’s signature EV now is the Chevrolet Bolt EV , another new name, which arrived as a 2017 model and promptly won Motor Trend ’s Car of the Year award. I’m hoping for the latter.
