General Motors and Powermat, a provider of wireless charging technology for mobile personal devices, announced a commercial agreement that will eliminate the need for charging cords for personal electronic devices in many future Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac products beginning mid-2012. General Motors and its joint ventures sold more than 4 million vehicles in China for the first time in 2017. The company benefited from record domestic sales by the Cadillac, Buick and Baojun brands. Cadillac, which has had 22 months in a row of double-digit sales growth, posted a sales increase of 51% to 175,489 units in 2017.

General Motors and its joint ventures in China delivered a March record of 345,448 vehicles, an increase of 16% from a year earlier. The Buick, Cadillac and Baojun brands all reached new sales highs for March. For the 13 th consecutive month, Cadillac posted double-digit growth, with sales surging 63%.

The current product line of GM includes the Hummer EV, which is now being delivered, and the Cadillac Lyriq, which will be arriving in the coming years. We could simply cool the batteries and motors by some means (water, air or oil), and then use radiators to return the heat to the atmosphere. But why do we need to transfer heat?

And as anticipated by automakers in recent weeks, the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Cadillac Lyriq don’t yet make the list, while the Ford Mustang Mach-E is for now completely disqualified. The Nissan Leaf isn’t yet on the list either. Also of note: No Rivian electric truck qualifies for the full $7,500 tax credit amount in 2024, at this time.
