UK-based Electric Car Corporation Plc ( ECC ) has officially launched an all-electric version of the Citroën C1, the C1 ev’ie. The C1 ev’ie. The Citroën C1 ev’ie is assembled in the UK from the donor car. The C1 ev’ie is priced at £16,850 (US$25,000) and is available directly from ECC.

Axeon , Europe’s largest independent lithium-ion battery systems supplier, will develop a new high-capacity battery system for the electric Citroën C1 ev’ie, manufactured by the UK-based Electric Car Corporation ( earlier post ), with a view to supplying between 300 and 500 units in the 12 months following a successful trial.

Car-sharing operator Zipcar and the Westminster City Council in London have launched a new car sharing club fleet that will initially include 20 hybrid vehicles and will offer members access to the country’s first all-electric car club vehicle, a Citroen c1.

The Electric Car Corporation Plc (ECC) today announced the launch of the UK’s first 4 seater, ‘all electric’ production car. The C1 ev’ie can be fully charged in 6-7 hours from a domestic 13 amp socket at a cost of around 90p, making it an ideal city car for either professional or domestic use.

Dundee-based Axeon, Europe’s largest independent lithium-ion battery systems supplier, has received the nod to develop a high capacity battery system for the electric Citroen C1 ev’ie. The vehicle, which is manufactured by the UK-based Electric Car Corporation, has a range of more than 60 miles and a top speed of 60mph.
