Axeon , Europe’s largest independent lithium-ion battery systems supplier, will develop a new high-capacity battery system for the electric Citroën C1 ev’ie, manufactured by the UK-based Electric Car Corporation ( earlier post ), with a view to supplying between 300 and 500 units in the 12 months following a successful trial.

Continental has developed a production-ready radar system specifically designed for driverless vehicles. The aim is not to develop the CUbE into a production vehicle, but to get a range of Continental technologies, such as brake systems and surrounding sensors, market-ready so that they can be used in robo-taxi series production.

Reduction in battery pack cost by 5%-10%.
