HaloIPT’s induction power technology (IPT) uses strongly coupled magnetic resonance to transfer from a primary-side power supply to a secondary-side pick-up pad with controller. The Electric Car Corporation Plc (ECC) today announced the launch of the UK’s first 4 seater, ‘all electric’ production car. The C1 ev’ie can be fully charged in 6-7 hours from a domestic 13 amp socket at a cost of around 90p, making it an ideal city car for either professional or domestic use.

In a project co-funded by the US Department of Energy and managed by Ecotality North America, the Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium (ALABC) has demonstrated the durability of lead-carbon batteries in the high-rate, partial state-of-charge operation of a hybrid electric vehicle. The battery capacity was 7.54 Ah for the new modules.

Axeon , Europe’s largest independent lithium-ion battery systems supplier, will develop a new high-capacity battery system for the electric Citroën C1 ev’ie, manufactured by the UK-based Electric Car Corporation ( earlier post ), with a view to supplying between 300 and 500 units in the 12 months following a successful trial.
