A Mazda CX-5 2WD, for example, emits 161g/km of CO2 so would be up for $1300 in penalties, while the all-wheel drive version emits 175g/km so would cop $3400 in fines.

Mazda Ford Partner was reported to be developing Series PHEV based on Mazda 5 MPV platform. People wont buy a full car. They will buy a car and rent or lease the battery and the cost of leasing the battery will be the same as, or less than, the cost theyre paying today for petrol. No announced plans.
