Canada and California to work together on cleaner transportation

Canada’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, and the Chair of the California Air Resources Board, Mary Nichols, today signed a new cooperation agreement to advance cleaner vehicles and fuels. Canada is developing a Clean Fuel Standard that will cut emissions by 30 million tonnes in 2030.

New Jersey to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035

The state Department of Environment Protection announced that it will prohibit the sale of new gas-powered cars precisely on January 1, 2035. Despite the impending ban, New Jersey will not prohibit the ownership or use of gasoline-powered cars or force consumers to buy electric cars. The rule will only apply to new car sales.
