Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At these prices, people are buying the "environmental feature" -- they want to be among the first owners of the worlds cleanest extended-range vehicles. They are early adopters, buying "Version 1.0" So far, most start as hybrids.

As far as Maverick buyers, most of whom will be buying their first pickup, they will unknowingly become hybrid ambassadors. The public reaction was so strong that Ford had to cut-off reservations for the Maverick hybrid, and is dealing with a production crunch to meet demand. Who will buy the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick?

Chrysler isnt the first to realize that building an EV off of a Lotus platform makes for an incredibly fast and fun experience (see also: Tesla Roadster ) We escaped from the dark confines of Cobo Hall onto a decently sunny day and cruised along the river and past the Ren Cen, gunning the Circuit whenever possible. Small size. New technology.
