The Nikkei reports that Japan-based motor maker Nidec is planning to invest an estimated ¥100 billion (US$715 million) to build an e-axle plant in Mexico. The company plans to be capable of building an annual 7 million e-axles by March 2026. The planned Mexico plant would be responsible for delivering part of the remaining 1.3

The BMW Group will invest $1 billion to build a new plant in Mexico in close proximity to the city of San Luis Potosí in the state of the same name. Honda de Mexico, S.A. HDM), Honda’s production and sales company in Mexico, will build an automobile plant for production of fuel-efficient subcompact vehicles for the Mexican and North American markets. Honda will invest approximately US$800 million to build the plant, which is scheduled to begin operation in 2014.

Ford Motor Company announced that its Kansas City Assembly Plant will build the all-new E-Transit van, part of a more than $3.2 —Kumar Galhotra, president, Americas and International Markets Group. The all-electric E-Transit will be unveiled Thursday and arrives in late 2021. This will retain 225 jobs at the plant.
