The California Energy Commission unanimously adopted the 2013-2014 Investment Plan Update to support the development and use of green vehicles and alternative fuels. Funding priorities through the ARFVT Program support fuel and vehicle development to help attain the state’s climate change policies.

The California Energy Commission unanimously adopted a 2012-2013 Investment Plan Update to increase the use of green vehicles and alternative fuels. Skilled workers are needed to manufacture low-emissions vehicles, produce alternative fuels, build fueling stations and otherwise support California’s growing clean transportation market.

The statute, amended by Assembly Bill 109 (Núñez, Chapter 313, Statutes of 2008), authorizes the Energy Commission to develop and deploy alternative and renewable fuels and advanced transportation technologies to help achieve the state's climate change policies. The eight projects are: Electric Vehicle manufacturing. $1
