Buick will introduce its first electric SUV, the VELITE 7, in China this year. Developed on GM’s global electric vehicle platform, the VELITE 7 compact SUV will offer an electric range of up to 500 kilometers (311 miles) under New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) conditions on a full charge.
Buick has launched the VELITE 6 MAV electric vehicle in China. Buick has strengthened its commitment to electrification in China with the launch of the VELITE 7 electric vehicle and VELITE 6 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). The VELITE 7 is the first all-electric SUV in Buick’s new energy vehicle portfolio, offering 500 kilometers (311 miles) of range on a single charge.

Shanghai GM announced that its all-new high-end midsize SUV, the Buick Envision, will make its premiere in China later this year. The production model is inspired by the Buick Envision plug-in hybrid concept vehicle, introduced at Auto Shanghai 2011. The fuel-saving start/stop technology will come standard across the line.

Shanghai GM previewed the all-new Buick Envision, announcing its Chinese name as “Ang Ke Wei” (???); the new high-end midsize SUV will go on sale across China later this year. The model carries forward the design essence of the Buick Envision concept vehicle, which made its global debut at Auto Shanghai 2011.
Buick announced that it will shortly launch the Velite 5, its first extended range electric vehicle (EREV), in China. Last year, Buick launched the all-new LaCrosse Hybrid Electric Vehicle and hosted the world premiere of the Velite Concept, which served as the template for future new energy vehicles under Buick’s strategy in China.
