In addition, monthly sales of the Chevrolet Cruze grew to 8,764 units in July, achieving its best single month since it entered the market in April.

The market benefited from stimulus policies adopted by the Chinese government as well as growing demand for personal transportation in tier-three and tier-four cities and rural areas. This represented an increase of 38.0% from the first six months of 2008.
