The Buick Electra concept vehicle made its global premiere in Shanghai. The all-electric crossover offers a glimpse of Buick’s vision for a new intelligent electric future. It is named after an iconic Buick flagship model that originally represented one of the three shields in the brand’s logo.
Buick is committing to an all-electric portfolio by the end of the decade. In support of General Motors’ vision of a zero-emissions, all-electric future, Buick will bring its first electric vehicle to market for North America in 2024. Buick’s future EV products will carry the Electra name, drawing inspiration from the brand’s history.
Buick has strengthened its commitment to electrification in China with the launch of the VELITE 7 electric vehicle and VELITE 6 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Buick has launched the VELITE 6 MAV electric vehicle in China. As Buick’s first global all-electric vehicle and SAIC-GM’s first electric vehicle for the mass market, the VELITE 6 MAV (which stands for Multi-Activity Vehicle) integrates GM and SAIC’s resources and advanced technology in new energy and connected vehicles.

Buick introduced the 2016 Cascada convertible at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
