Converting a significant portion of the fleet to hydrogen would require more DRI plants and more electric furnaces. The combined NEDC range is 822 km (522 mi).

Hydrogen Economy Outlook , a new and independent global study from research firm BloombergNEF (BNEF), finds that clean hydrogen could be deployed in the decades to come to cut up to 34% of global greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and industry at a manageable cost. Abatement cost with hydrogen at $1/kg (7.4/MMBtu).

After selling nearly 35,000 Seagull models in March, cumulative sales of BYD’s cheapest electric car topped 360,000. BYD sells over 360,000 units of its cheapest electric car BYD launched the Seagull on April 26, 2023. It was initially available in three trims, starting at $10,200 (RMB 73,800), its cheapest electric car.

BYD began construction on its manufacturing plant in Brazil earlier this year. Sales are surging after launching its cheapest EV in Brazil in March, the $20,000 (99,800 BRL) Seagull (called the Dolphin Mini overseas). BYD led the growth with nearly 15,000 of the total 36,090 EVs sold in Brazil in Q1.
