After four years of development work, the BMW iX5 Hydrogen vehicle and its development project are entering its next phase as the first vehicles enter a pilot fleet of less than 100 vehicles. The BMW iX5 Hydrogen developed on the basis of the current BMW X5 was first unveiled as a concept at the IAA show in 2019.

BMW will stage the world premiere of the BMW ActiveE at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Based on the current BMW 1 Series Coupé, the BMW ActiveE is the second electric test vehicle to be created by the BMW Group. The company had unveiled the Concept ActiveE at the North American International Auto Show in 2010.

The BMW ActiveHybrid X6. BMW announced the production versions of the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and the BMW ActiveHybrid 7. The ActiveHybrid X6 will reach US BMW Centers in fourth-quarter 2009, and the ActiveHybrid 7 will arrive in the US in Spring 2010. Luggage compartment capacity is the same as on the original BMW X6.
