BMW has provided some additional detail on its two-mode ActiveHybrid X6, as well as updating some of the figures released for the introduction of the production model at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Competing in the premium midsize SUV category, the 2021 Cadillac XT5 is right in the middle of stiff competition, including models from Acura, Audi, BMW, Genesis, Infiniti, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Tesla and Volvo. We were surprised to cross the 30 mpg mark for this 3,915-pound, five-passenger midsize SUV.

The fuel economy, which is best in Touring mode, is rated by the EPA at 24 mpg city/29 highway/26 combined mpg. mpg, same as the EPA. We were pleased to cross the 30 mpg mark and surpass the EPA 29 mpg rating by so much. In 365 miles of mostly freeway driving we averaged 26.1

What you will see is a sharp design with a great stance that rivals its Mercedes-Benz CLA, BMW 2-Series, and the Audi A3 competitors. Such horsepower and torque numbers can mean so-so fuel economy, but that was not the case with the EPA rating at 21 mpg city/29 highway/24 combined. Under $34,000. Not much here.
