After spending the past year and a half converting a Porsche 914 to an electric vehicle, I decided to expand my horizons by designing an open-source electric vehicle (EV) conversionkit for a commonly used car. There are already commercially available kits with excellent, detailed instructions for how to convert a vehicle.
UK-based Electrogenic has produced a bolt-in conversionkit that transforms the DMC DeLorean into an all-electric vehicle. The bolt-in kit is said to require absolutely no cutting, welding, or drilling of any kind — making it a option for someone hoping to create a movie replica or cyberpunk project car. kWh battery pack.

My blog unearthed a lot of the inner workings on that vehicle. My ramblings on the 2022 EV scene I have an electric cycle, which is an eAdicct conversionkit added to a Schnell 26 inch cycle. It was such an ice breaker and conversation starter. Do read my blog , where i talk about the same in greater detail.
An outfit called Flex has apparently been slinging these types of conversions for some spell but is now expanding its presence into America through a location in San Diego. The new kit is made solely for the American market, which makes sense since the Tacoma can be in short supply in Japan compared to Jacksonville.
With almost 3000 miles of cheap, reliable operation, I think it's time to move on to something that will help more people do their own conversions. I really appreciated the high-quality parts and detailed instructions provided by Electro Automotive with their 914 kit. Cheers, Tim.

By Atul Gopal We had an opportunity to visit Nothway Motorsports to check out their new electric truck conversionkit. With a kit expected at between 3 to 4 lakh, the electric Ace may just about provide serious competition to the CNG one. The real cost economics in Ace kind of vehicles is to be able to beat CNG.
For those of you who have read my blog entries in the past, you know I've blown up the internal FETs of the DC-DC over five times and spent countless hours reverse-engineering the circuit with experts at work to see just what could possibly be wrong with the system. The 9" DC motor from ElectroAuto's kit 20 years ago provided more torque.
One of the annoying behaviors of the motor system in my AC 914 kit is that the default DMOC445 parameters causes the acceleration and braking to have oscillations. I've started an 914 Electric Conversion Wiki at the URL below. Please contribute to the Wiki as you can. link] Thanks to everyone for their support on this project.

I also purchased a plastic toolbox for the trunk filled with most of the stuff I listed in this prior blog entry , just in case I had problems out on the road. I found quite a bit of water in the rear trunk during these rainy days, so I added the weather-stripping that I had never installed from the original ElectroAuto kit.
In a comment to a prior blog entry, Paul J suggested that I try using the brake light signal from the brake pedal to activate the regenerative system. In the original kit instructions, the regen relay turns on the brake lights when the AC controller is in regen mode. I recommend this alteration to anyone using this kit!

Today, I installed the last kit piece that I have from Electro Automotive: the motor controller wiring harness. Here's the harness plugged into the controller and fed through the two-inch computer grommet from the last blog entry. ElectroAuto was gracious enough to color code every single wire to help prevent misconnects.
