Nissan has entered into an agreement with the Royal Government of Bhutan with the shared goal of achieving the nation’s transition to an electric vehicle fleet. The agreement follows talks between the Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay and Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn in Thimphu last year.
Several cities are considering using Nissan Leaf electric cars as taxis, but no place has yet replaced every single taxi with the battery-electric hatchback. Soon, that may be the case in the small Asian nation of Bhutan, where Leafs could become more common (proportionally) than anywhere else in the world.
