Honda is planning to use wind turbines to power its plant in Swindon. The Japanese carmaker proposes to install two 79 metre high wind turbines between the village of South Marston and the car plant, with another two on site, the BBC reports. According to the BBC , the car, which can tow its own wind turbine, was ordered after a Highland Council-commissioned report forecasted a decline in filling stations. It takes about 10 hours to recharge and can tow a small wind turbine on a trailer for charging in remoter areas.

People are scared that they’ll get stuck and have no way of charging the batteries, hey I have an idea why not build a wind turbine on the roof that way as you drive the turbine spins and charges the battery. Wind, solar and nuclear could easily change our electrical sources. We need forward thinking, Gathering energy from solar and wind during the day at home and then charging our cars at night from these sources are ready now. To electrify transportation, we are looking at new generation so that would be a mix of natural gas and wind.

Wind, hydro, DC transmission lines, and smart grid electronics are also Portland strengths.
