GS Battery (USA) Inc. , a US subsidiary of GS Yuasa Group of Japan, introduced the ECO R line of advanced storage batteries targeting the renewable energy market. The ECO R product line consists of four advanced lead acid, VRLA (Valve-regulated Lead-Acid Battery) products. The ECO R SLC70-4V is UL listed.

Axion Power International, Inc, the developer of advanced lead-carbon PbC batteries and energy storage systems ( earlier post ), has entered a strategic relationship with ePower Engine Systems LLC. The first truck to be outfitted with a PbC battery string has been completed and is now on the road going through its final test procedures.
