Existing electricmotorcycles have been designed with the retail market in mind, and can be both expensive and slow to charge. Because emergency services require high levels of availability and have an unpredictable demand, retail electricmotorcycles are unlikely to present a cost-effective solution.
First off, the bike uses an 18kWh battery using 800-volt architecture , and it is capable of charging at a rate of 20kW. The bike keeps weight just below 500 pounds (496) via the use of a carbonfiber frame/battery casing, carbonfiber fairing , and a carbon-fiber/aluminum hybrid swing arm.
The Apache RTE, purpose-built for the e-OMC, is inteneded to be a showcase of the latest in electricmotorcycle power and performance. Powered by a high-efficiency liquid-cooled motor and advanced chemistry battery pack, the bike boasts the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class.
