Ford unveils C-MAX Solar Energi concept; “plug-in” hybrid not dependent on electric grid can fully recharge from sun

Ford Motor Company announced the C-MAX Solar Energi Concept, a sun-powered hybrid vehicle that can deliver the efficiency of a plug-in hybrid without depending on the electric grid for recharging. Internal Ford data suggest the sun could power up to 75% of all trips made by an average driver in a solar hybrid vehicle.

Bucharest orders 100 Solaris electric trolleybuses

The 12-meter trolleybuses will be powered by a 160 kW traction motor. The Trollino vehicles will be fitted with Solaris High Power batteries with a capacity of 60 kWh, which will enable them to cover distances of up to 20 km at a time without connection to an overhead wires.

Solaris receives first order for 10 electric buses under a tender for 530 e-buses for Hamburg

The configurations for both types of e-buses for the operator from Hamburg will feature motors integrated into the drive axle. The carrier opted for Solaris High Energy+ batteries that will be conventionally charged by plugging them in. In line with the signed contract, the vehicles will be handed over to Hamburg in October 2021.
