The Volt drive unit combines two motors and three clutches to deliver four distinct operating modes to maximize efficiency and provide a seamless driving experience. Put another way, the GM team wanted to extend the range of the vehicle as efficiently as possible, while maintaining quality driving dynamics and experience.

The Velozzi Supercar will be powered by a 770 hp (574 kW) AC-induction electric motor charged by an on-board Capstone C65 microturbine.
