Parking lots seem logical places for solar farms, blocking the sun’s rays from baking vehicle interiors and converting that energy to usable power to make the cars run. It’s now or never if humans hope to prevent the mercury from increasing by 1.5° Why aren’t such facilities multiplying everywhere? The way it could be.

They’ve seen Super Bowl ads for the GMC Hummer EV , or heard news about the lengthy, painful Chevrolet Bolt EV battery recall. Just like, say, Ford—which was then in the process of killing Mercury, to leave it with only Ford and Lincoln. Battery size, motor power and most other details remain unknown.

Could it use batteries instead, at least one per sensor node? Pause for a moment to look at the smoke detector in the room where you're sitting and think about the last time you changed its battery. But in either case the computer must always be running, which means it will eventually drain the battery.

Regenerative braking is accomplished by allowing a vehicle’s electric motor-generator to spin freely, generating an alternating current which is rectified to direct current to charge the vehicle’s battery pack. Some early hybrid vehicles employed regen in tandem with a conventional hydraulic braking system.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. PHEVs with "Good Enough to Get Started" batteries. The nonprofit CalCars does conversions to demonstrate new designs and provide a platform for different batteries; we dont sell conversions. So far, most start as hybrids.
