The Barbados Transport Board recently received 33 BYD battery-electric buses and two more of the 30-foot buses will be delivered by December. The bus delivery is an important milestone for the Barbados National Climate Change Plan, which sets a goal of 100% renewable energy and carbon neutrality by 2030.

BYD entered the Colombian market in 2012 and made several milestone achievements: building the first pure electric taxi fleet in South America in 2013, entering the Bogotá BRT system in 2017. China’s leading EV maker, BYD , is quickly gaining ground in overseas markets. The EV leader plans to enter ten new markets by the end of the year. With 331,817 new energy vehicles (EVs and PHEVs) sold in May (+38% YOY), BYD posted its second-highest sales month ever. The Seagull EV is already rolling out in overseas markets.
