Long-term exposure to particulate air pollution has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, but the biological process has not been understood. Participant-specific pollutant concentrations averaged over the years 2000–10 ranged from 9.2–22.6 The study is published in The Lancet. and NO x between 1999 and 2012.
New NASA satellite images released this week demonstrate the reduction of air pollution across the US. Nitrogen dioxide is one of the six common pollutants regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to protect human health. It’s also a good proxy for the presence of air pollution in general.
The researchers will monitor station usage and track reductions in pollution and carbon dioxide emissions. The new stations will not be more than 50 miles apart, which is the battery range for the least expensive electric vehicle models today. With a budget of $80,000, the entire project costs less than one long-range electric vehicle.
Vehicle technologies span a range from new Si/graphene Li-ion anode materials and composites for motor windings to diesel aftertreatment and advanced lubricants. The reduced fuel consumption will extend the effective range of the turbo vehicle. Mainstream Engineering Corp. Nextech Materials. TDA Research, Inc.

This summer two NASA research airplanes will fly over the Baltimore-Washington region and northeast Maryland as part of a mission to enhance the capability of satellites to measure ground-level air quality from space. The flights will be supported by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will aid EPA in monitoring pollutants.
President Joe Biden takes a trip to Baltimore to announce $147 million in EPA awards to the city’s Ports, which will support electrification efforts, clean up carbon emissions, and support some 2,000 union jobs at the Port — but that’s just a small part of the larger, $3 billion announcement.
