The Morgan Motor Company is launching the three-wheeled Morgan EV3 , the company’s first production electric vehicle, at the Geneva Motor Show. Early indications suggest a minimum 0-62 mph time of less than 9 seconds and a top speed in excess of 90 mph (145 km/h).

The SOLO is a purpose-built, three-wheeled, all-electric solution for the urban environment, and is engineered for a single occupant. kWh battery pack, the SOLO has a range of 100 miles and a top speed of 80 mph, making it safe for highways. Plans for this program will be forthcoming.

ZOE, which will go on sale this autumn, was joined by Twizy (a two-seat, compact city EV), which becomes available throughout the Renault sales network next week starting at €6,990 (US$9,200) for the lower speed Twizy 45, or €7,690 (US$10,000) for the full-speed Twizy. ZOE has been homologated with an NEDC cycle range of 201 km (130 miles).

Despite having seen them around for years, they were models I had long assumed would be marginally better than the atrocious three-wheeled motorcycles offered by Harley-Davidson. Can-Am’s three-wheeled products turned out to be some of the best touring vehicles I’ve ever ridden sans air conditioning.
