Certainly the power is available quickly, but there is the (almost) ever-present rumble of a petrol engine to remind you that this is no pure BEV.

With two Electric cars, at the time a Nissan Lean and Mitsubishi Outlander, we use a considerable amount of electricity but not much petrol, so already we were a reasonable way down the less CO2 road. Inverter: This is the most important bit of kit. The main reasons were: Reduce our monthly electricity. They seem a fine unit.

Audi Q4 e-Tron – as with the e-Tron, the Q4 will be available as a regular SUV (with more boot space) and a sleeker Sportback. BMW 5-Series EV – to be available with a BEV drivetrain (to complement the existing PHEV models) from around 2022. Audi RS e-Tron GT. Likely to arrive in Australia late in 2021.

Due in the second quarter, the BYD Seal U is available globally as a plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV) and a fully electric model. The 250kW/679Nm dual-motor all-wheel drive e-Tron 55 Quattro is pricier, at $108,500 plus on-roads.

The check in was at 1330 hrs - and there were no unsanitized rooms available, so we decided to take an Ola to go to Kropex Motors, the Tata Motors dealer at Singasandra. Go to petrol pump owners and find out who are people who are big time consumers. The womenfolk created some sewing kits and embroidery frames. 5,000 upwards.
