Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility’s fleet of XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks has collectively exceeded 1 million kilometers of driving in 11 months of service in Switzerland. The fuel cell system’s durability as well as the vehicle’s overall fuel efficiency has been improved to better stay in tune with the demands of commercial fleet customers. 2021 XCIENT Fuel Cell is now available in a 6x2 rigid body configuration as well as the 4x2 option introduced in the previous model.

Nestlé Switzerland and Renault Trucks (part of the Volvo Group) recently introduced an experimental all-electric refrigerated truck—nicknamed the e-Truck—that combines an all-electric 13t Renault Midlum developed by Renault Trucks with a refrigerated body that is also entirely powered by electricity.

A new study by MIT researchers, published this month in Atmospheric Environment , finds that in Europe, 10 major auto manufacturers produced diesel cars, sold between 2000 and 2015, that generate up to 16 times more NO x emissions on the road than in regulatory tests—a level that exceeds European limits but does not violate any EU laws.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros heavy-duty electric truck, with a range of up to 200 km, is in intensive use by customers in Germany and Switzerland as part of the eActros “innovation fleet”. eCitaro vehicles were also delivered to Luxembourg and Switzerland. The first hand-off to a customer was in 2018.

The Kolkata Police has announced that it is going to add 226 electric vehicles into its fleet in order to counter rising diesel prices and to escalate the maintenance costs of diesel-powered vehicles.
