Audi is introducing the vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) service “Traffic Light Information” in Europe. From July, Audi will network new models with the traffic lights in Ingolstadt/Germany; further European cities will follow from 2020 onwards. With the Traffic Light Information function, drivers are more in control.

Availability of the Focus Electric will expand next year to the remaining 15 launch markets as production ramps up. Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.; Portland, Ore.; Raleigh Durham, N.C.; Richmond, Va., Seattle, and Washington, DC.

These projects put more than 9,000 alternative fuel and energy-efficient light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles on the road, and establish 542 refueling locations across the country. The project will result in expanded availability of alternative fuels with 17 new CNG and E85 fueling stations and 63 electric vehicle charging stations.

Based on our half-day of driving the new Tiguan in the foothills of Denver, the automaker has succeeded on the quality front. This technology stops the engine during idle when the brake pedal is held (such as when waiting at a red light).
