Some models of vehicle, such as tractors, which the Corporation uses on its green spaces like Hampstead Heath and Epping Forest, do not have a non-diesel alternative. These vehicles will continue to be used until a cleanalternative becomes available on the market.
The project will deploy 554 alternative fuel and hybrid electric vehicles and install 153 alternative fueling and electric vehicle charging stations throughout the Chicago region. The project will result in expanded availability of alternative fuels with 17 new CNG and E85 fueling stations and 63 electric vehicle charging stations.
