Toyota launches Prius in Japan; forecasts delay in deliveries of the new model

Concurrent with launch, however, Toyota announced that it forecasts an unavoidable delay in delivery of the Prius α due to the ongoing effects of the Great East Japan Earthquake on production. km/L (73 mpg US, 3.2 Derived from the third-generation Prius hybrid, the α offers an interior allowing multiple seat arrangements.

The 2025 targets analyzed thus range from 190 g/mi (equivalent to 47 mpg under test) under the 3% per year reduction scenario to 143 g/mi (equivalent to 62 mpg under test) under the 6% per year scenario. GHG levels from the MY 2016 fleet-wide average of 250 g/mi, using different technology pathways to achieve the reductions.
