The Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards require that vehicles offered for sale in the US attain an average fuel economy of 40.3 to 41 mpg by 2021 and 48.7 mpg by 2025. These standards will require the US new vehicle fleet to double in fuel economy between 2012 and 2025. only the MY 2017-2021 CAFE standards are final.
