The all-electric Porsche Macan will finally show its face later this week. Ahead of its official debut, Porsche is teasing the new Macan EV with sketches that preview a “quintessentially Porsche” design. The Porsche Macan is based on the Audi co-developed PPE platform, which will also power the upcoming Q6 E-Tron.

Audi still sells some good-to-great gas-powered SUVs, but the EV companions like this Q6 E-Tron are the ones that will catapult it into the future, powerfully. The Q6 E-Tron marks the first Audi vehicle on a new VW Group architecture it developed: PPE, which it shares initially with the Porsche Macan EV.

Sized like those existing gas-powered vehicles, the Neue Klasse sedan and SUV promise faster charging and more range than BMW’s current crop of electric vehicles. That’s set for the end of 2025, when production of the first versions begins in Debrecen, Hungary, in what BMW promises will be its first fossil-free factory.
