BYD Company Limited, one of China’s fastest growing auto manufacturers, will establish the US headquarters of three separate operating divisions in the City of Los Angeles. In addition to its conventional vehicles, BYD introduced the F3DM dual-mode electric vehicle in 2008, and will soon officially launch the e6 electric vehicle.

The wait will soon be over for US customers eager to get their hands on BYD Auto’s e6 electric crossover. The Chinese manufacturer that is part-owned by Warren Buffet will introduce a limited number of the vehicles in the US next year according to BYD chairman Wang Chuanfu in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

Auto industry executives said the subsidies are likely to apply only to vehicles produced in China, although that wasn’t clear from the government notice.
