Stellantis plans to launch eight vehicles based on the STLA Large platform between 2024 to 2026, starting in North America with Dodge and Jeep models. That could include Dodge’s electric muscle car and the recently teased Jeep Wagoneer S. Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, and Maserati models will follow.

The recall covers Jeep Compass , Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs from the 2022 and 2023 model years. Also covered are 2021 through 2023 Chrysler Pacifica minivans and Jeep Grand Cherokee L SUVs, and 2021 and 2022 Dodge Durango SUVs. Stellantis is recalling nearly 1.2 million vehicles in the U.S.

Stellantis cut prices on the Jeep Compass and Grand Cherokee SUVs earlier this year and added more content to its vehicles to adjust to the higher interest rate environment. Jeep will also bring back the Cherokee, which went out of production last year and left the brand less competitive in the largest segment of the SUV market.

Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, and Tesla are among the brands that tumbled in Consumer Reports’ (CR) latest Annual Auto Reliability Survey, which collected data from its members about their experiences with more than half a million vehicles. Jeep has mixed results, falling two spots to 22. Chrysler drops seven spots to number 24.
