According to Sunrun, this setup can provide substantial energy resilience for homeowners, especially during power outages caused by severe weather events or grid failures. The US Department of Energy awarded funding to Maryland’s largest utility, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), to create the EV virtual power plant.
