Automakers unveiled more than a dozen production-ready, plug-in electric and hybrid electric vehicles at the Detroit auto show earlier this month, many of which will be on dealership lots between 2010 and 2012. While it is not the first time a future of electric cars has been on the horizon, industry experts say this time its for real.
